#BREAKING: Trudeau says U.S. tariffs will be PAUSED for 30 days after a phone call with Trump.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said President Donald Trump has agreed to pause the implementation of planned tariffs on imports from Canada for at least 30 days.

The pause was announced hours after Trump said he would pause tariffs on imports from Mexico for one month.

Trudeau said he laid out Canada's border plan and that Canada is making new commitments, including appointing a "fentanyl czar" and adding Mexican cartels to the list of terrorist entities.

He said Canada will keep an eye on the border "24/7" and launch with the United States, a joint strike force on organized crime, fentanyl trafficking and money laundering.

"I also signed a new intelligence directive focused on organized crime and fentanyl, which will be supported by an investment of $200 million," Trudeau posted in French.
